Today six cars turned up to Power Engineering for a Power Run.

98MY Terzo runing Super Unleaded
98MY Prodrive
STI III with Prodrive Backbox, Ramair and Scoobysports downpipe
STI V with Scoobysports backbox
STI IV with 30bhp GGR upgrade.
Lotus Elise (Subaru defector)

98MY Terzo

Std car running Super Unleaded with 9000 miles on the clock.
This car almost matched my old Terzo which had a Ramair
and Scoobysports backbox fitted. My old Terzo was running a
about 5lbft torque more. Power was the same. This was a good benchmark for
our last test. ie was the Rolling Road running high.

Results: 246bhp and 228ft torque.

The Superunleaded does seem to make a nice difference ?. A std Terzo
last time with 4500 miles was running 228bhp on Unleaded.

98MY Prodrive

Results 246bhp and 235ft torque.

The ECU change doesnt seem to be doing a lot again. This prodrive was a little
better than the last (+12bhp at one point) Prodrive conversion. But my old Terzo still produced more torque high up. With my old Terzo, todays Terzo and the Prodrive on the same graph
there was very little to choose. The Prodrive was a little better on low down on Torque.

The Prodrive run on the first rolling road day will be run again a week on
Saturday.

STI III Type R

Neil tried to keep it quite but couldnt. He'd been getting his hands dirty with Pete
Croney earlier today fitting the downpipe. Neils car had run on the first rolling road
so we were expecting some gains.

Results 284bhp and 276ft torque.

We overlayed Neils last run against this one. His torque was up by approx 30ft at points
and 22bhp. The average gain in bhp was 10bhp and about 10-20ft torque. Neil had commented
on how much better the car was picking up. He's still in search of 300bhp without
chipping. This test again was good to show that the Rolling Road was very close to last
time.

STI V

My new baby on the rollers. Always a nervous moment. The only mod a Scoobysports backbox.
No Ramair.

Results 305bhp and 282ft torque.

We overlayed my car against Anders. Mine had more power and the torque curve was almost
the same. Anders picked up about 300rpm earlier and the shape was almost identical.
At the top end mine had about 8ft torque more. Against Neils car before the downpipe
the difference is staggering.

Still smiling as I write this. Downpipe fitted next week in time for next Saturday.

STI IV with GGR 30bhp upgrade.

Dan's car was the most powerfull of the day and proved that the GGR upgrade works well.

Results 314 bhp and 290ft torque

The shape of the torque curve was not as nice as my std STI V but it produced the goods.
If you buy the Upgrade you will get a good 30bhp gain. Looks like a good conversion.

Power Engineerings STI III Type R

Power Engineering are doing a lot of work now on Impreza's. Their car now puts out 330 bhp.
They are not yet selling it as they are working on cooling !!. 22psi

Lotus Elise

Dan's friend and ex Impreza owner came down and put his 160bhp Elise on the Rollers.
It made 150bhp.

I think I can speak for everyone that came running or not and say how well PE treated us,
answered our questions and made it an enjoyable time. All the graphs are saved ready for
next Saturday. After this we will get the graphs posted on the web.
