Unfortunately I may have to sell my Impreza as we have our first little un on the way
, and we have just looked at our finances, when she goes to part-time, and, well, it just doesn't make sense to pay all that insurance and petrol, when there's more important things to spend it on
Anyway, I am reluctant to sell if I lose a load, and would appreciate some comments on what i'd get (have looked at the trader and there is a great variation in price, and a few that have been on there a while).
It's a 1998 UK Turbo wagon, in metallic green. Full Subaru Service history, with 90k service just done, all belts and fluids, gearbox, diff, everything.
Had a new short engine at 45k, under warranty, due to piston slap.
I have a massive folder detailing all services, all work, oil changes etc, original purchase receipt - in fact absolutley everything - the service history is absolutley spot on.
It is 98 spec with 16" rims (with Goodyear F1s), leather buckets (leather option from new at 1500 quid), 6 CD changer (option from new at 500 quid).
New Iridium plugs, run on Castrols RS 10w60 changed every 3k, with original Subaru filters.
It has grooved discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads.
Ultra-rare hand-made Sti stainless steel backbox (5") and Sti s/steel decat centre section.
It runs like new (seriously), and I have never had a single problem with it - nor have the two previous owners.
So what sort of price is realistic?

You might wan't to quote your milage first of all
You said had a 90K service so you makes it seem over that
also quote it's a UK car.
Look in the Glasses guide for a rough price. Then work out the least you'll accept
Unfortunately the price will only be what someone will is prepared to pay for it
hopefully he needs to buy it as much as you need to sell it 
Your Service history will add to it's sellability
Extra's like leather, PPP and such other dealer options, add half of original fitted value to guide price IMHO. Some extras may decrease the value. You could refit STD ones and then barter them in to make the sale

IMHO... a private sale for about £7.5K (best) is what you can expect. I sold my silver MY98 saloon, 85K, same spec, mint for £7.3K after 2 months of trying. Put it in Auto-Trader, you'll just get people taking the pi*s on the For Sale section here. Traders will only offer £6K. not amusing !

Ooh and it is still under warranty, and has 95k.
It genuinely runs like a new car, never had a problem with it - I think that shows how it has been cared for, which is backed up by the service history.
I have a Glass's valuation for 8.5k, for insurance purposes - not sure if I would get that privately, so maybe I should hope it gets nicked
