Please. Have order for USDM STi 2.5 short engine. Now im looking on photos and pistons look like non forged but cast iron like in GT or nonturbo version. Need to compare.

I have read somewere that it´s not forged pistons in the new STI 2,5,but something else, like the new STI9(2,0)....


I think it was on the rallespec side in the US

Pics I've seen of them look cast, they are nothing like the Sti9 pistons.

With regards to the pistons....they are a special high pressure casting method which produces a piston of superior strength to the normal casting method used for the regular WRX pistons. All STi models have gone to this high pressure cast piston.

In Europe, the new pistons are from 11-02 onwards, JDM only, different part number up to then, not sure about the US.
