can't decide where to position the amp; at the moment its along the side (it is 60cm long!!) but might have it on the bottom of the back seats. ay other ideas?? (it'll change next year anyway, but could really do with finishing it off before our 6 month pour down starts

Well, on back of rear seats or under front seats (though yours might be too big!) are common places.

How is your's fixed to the side? Have you mounted it on MDF?

How about upside down under the shelf?

Unless you've got a wagon of course!!!

Or a rear wiper.

seriously bad idea for heat dissipation reasons... The PCB takes the heat rather than the nice heat sink...

I did mount an amp upside down and suffered no ill effects, but that was running well under its rated power and into a very benign load.
