Question

I have just bought a new WRX Great Car/Crap HiFi!
Any suggestions for cost effective upgrades? Especially the speakers.

The head unit is the worst link it the chain, believe it or not. Changing that can make quite a difference.

After that, do the front speakers. Replace with a component set and you're laughing.

Chiark.

With abudget of around £200.00 what sort of head unit would be good and what can I put in the gap underneath, left by the old head unit. I was also thinking that something with an MP3 player might be nice in the head unit. Dont use tapes so dont need that option.

Thanks in advance

Chris, have a look on the thread linked by JockyTT. There's plenty of MP3 units for 200 quid, choose a decent brand and you won't go far wrong.

You need a pocket of sorts, plus an iso adaptor which changes the subaru proprietary plug into an industry standard. Costs less than a tenner from most places.

Cheers,
Nick.
