Question

...and bangs under full acceleration. MY96, UK car, Esso SUL and a full SS decat.

Under hard acceleration when warm the car pops and bangs only problem during this the power drops and the car hesitates. Any ideas?

It will be going off to BRD for an ECU swap and remap soon. Just hoping no damage is happening. Personally I doubt it, just would like a little reasurance.

Could this be over boost?

Have you checked the plugs? They might need re-gaping/changing.

my95 wagon is like yours and i have tried everything and i meen everything.
new plugs, coils, intercooler, every sensor, and i think i have finally cracked it. I think it is heat soak from my exhaust as i lifter the boost up to 16 psi so i have took the metal plate off above the turbo to let heat out and i have sent for some exhaust heat wrap to contain the heat in the exhaust and stop it rissing into the engine bay.It will be another week before its done so i'll let you know what happens.
Yours might be a nother problem thou' but if you need a new maf or other sensors e mail me as i might be able to help at a fraction of the dealer price.
