Hi Tony good to meet you yesterday, impressed that you drove from Hereford. Nice car, But glad you didn't chase them they could have rammed your immaculate machine and you and your family could have been injured.

Hope to see you soon

Andy

Question

I went to Elsmere port to the meet for the poorly lad.

Leaving early to go to the Chester Oak shopping centre 3 miles down the Motorway.

With the wife and Daughter in the car we pull off motorway and go in Right hand lane to exit right at oncoming roundabout. All of a sudden a H reg Blue Escort bombed up the inside, as a queue in that lane, he swerves in front to of me and slams into the back a lexus in front of me

The passengers in the Escort approx 14-16 year old then reversed and sped off

I started to persue 20yards but with the Family onboard change my mind and aided the Old shaken couple inthe Lexus. Also big thanks form the mx5 and Elise boys who also stopped ( they were also at the Meet) They rang bobbies and suplied Reg Number.

Was I right not to give chase ??? I think so

Tony

Tony, I was at the meet too, family on board aswell ( white wagon MY96). Your family comes first mate every time, I think most of us here would think twice but you made the right decision.

Glad u enjoyed the day.......hope u didn't get stopped due to the size of your reg plate....LOL.

Deffo!

You, your family and last and least your STi would have been next!

As long as no one was injured let the Bobbies sort it.

We think you did the right thing
Not worth risking it. Such a shame when things like that happen tho.

Nice to meet you and your family today by the way
Loved your car
We stopped at the subaru garage on the way home ... I really want one now. I think we may very well be a two subaru family soon!!!!!

Question

Only thing is, if you are alone, and give chase, what are you going to do if you catch them? Chances are, they won't care about bouncing off your car and damaging it to try and escape, and even if you do stop them, there's several of them and one of you. And chances are, you'd have to drive dangerously to keep up with people who are driving dangerously - you can be pretty certain you'd get nicked too if you get caught.

Admittedly, keep far enough away, until the police can take over, can see how that might help.

All in all, yep I think you did the right thing. All for stopping the scum, but IMHO you need to be realistic about what you can achieve and the risks involved.

Yea i meant follow from a safe distance, just so that if they say bomb up into a drive someone would know where they'd gone!

About 30 minutes - just lined it up and drilled a couple of pilot holes and then used the self tappers supplied.

tony, just read this, and would have done the same as you. Not give chase, as has been said, you'd end up getting nicked or smashed into, not worth it.
was amazed that you had come from hereford for the meet on sunday, and well impressed. good on ya.
hope to see you again sometime,
chris
