Question

Now I know it is novel owning original cds these day but I got two this week that play ok on all my home stuff but won't play on the blaupunkt in the car. On the back on the cd cases it says they are copy protected. - is the problem down to the copy protection and the mp3 compatibility of the deck, if so what can I do?

That's interesting- I bought my first copy protected CD the other week. When played on a PC you have to use a media player that comes with it, rather than Windows Media Player. I have checked it in my car and it works fine. (Kosheen BTW)

You could always rip the CD to MP3 then put it back on a disc...

LOL, rip then encode to mp3 - sorta one in the eye for 'em.

My kenwood unit has a "CD mode" setting in the setup menu that allows you to choose between "auto" identification of audio cd vs data cd, "audio" cd, or "data" cd.

I'd guess that the blau should have this as well, have a good look through the manual to see if there's anything about cd identification.

Cheers,
Nick.
