help please. im trying to install a Pioneer KEH-P6800R. It was absolutley great when it was taken out of our *cough* megan *cough* but now its dying or dead.

ok, hook up -ve and +ve to battery (-ve black +ve yellow) and all that happens is the tape inside whirs and then nothing. Source wont turn on and its just dead after the whirring.
Its been in its box in the garage loft for 1yr and a 1/2 if that helps.

 

Don't you have a red +12v as well? Yellow = permanent +12v. Red = ignition +12v. Black = GND.

but cant be arsed to remove all the shrouding for red. (73 GT6)

you'll need to connect both red and yellow to +12v to have a chance of it working. But if you can't be arsed....

 

hmmmmmmmmmmmm - odd thing. checked the fuse mornin fine. checked it a bit ago - blown. new one in. hooked it up now and it whirred - beeped (warning when leaving car to take radio (connects to int light)) and then got rather hot!

had to use continuance tester after taking the cowling off and putting ign on.

 

stereos ****ed.

burnin smell, not sensing changer, not play in speakers.
