what turbo should be fitted on '93 Legacy Turbo ?

And.....

Would a std TD05 from an Impreza WRX fit and is there any advantages in using one ?

If memory serves me right, it should have an IHI VH12. Yes a TD05 will bolt on, and is a much better turbocharger. Should see gains right across the rev range, and little if any more lag.

 

I thought they already had TD05 babies under the bonnet?

Whats a 2nd hand TD05 worth ?

You should be able to pick up a td05 for about £150. Make sure it has the banjo fed water pipes on it, as the fittings are larger than TD04 and VF turbos.

Boost control will go awol I should think, Dawes Valve or Elec boost controller may be simplest route on that

Just in the process of bunging a TD05 (and full exhaust system) on my Legacy Turbo. Drop me a mail in a couple of weeks and I'll let you know!

(Just realised I think I am missing one of the banjo connectors.....bum)

 

the banjo on the top for the oil feed is fine, and the oil drain stub pipe might need just the holes elongating
