Just tried dfitting the sti 4 intercooler to my 94 wrx...

doesn't exactly go straight on

dump valve take off fouls idle control valve, whole interccoler fouls bulk head, and mounting points are non existant.

Overall a f*ckin pi55er.

Anyone want buy a lovely sti intercooler?

I don't seriously have to machine down the throttle body?, I thought I might be able to nip a bit off the intercooler, TBH it was the d/v outlet pipe that pi55ed me off the most.

I can cope with messing about with mounting etc, but it means I've got to cut the d/v pipe off then get it welded up, then make up some sort of d/v fitting underneath the intercooler.

It's too hot to get stressed up under the bonnet

James, have you really got to take the whole DV outlet off?? My mate is coming over in a sec in his STI so i will have a quick look at his IC.

Persevere M8, its not an easy job but well worth it! It won't just go in as I had to machine the throttle body and the IC. My mate made me a new T-section out of stainless so I could adapt the DV to fit. Also the brackets I custom made to fit and it is also easier with a samco hose kit. But don't give up as the plusses sure out-weigh the negatives

Yeah I will, just a bit annoyed, should have known it wouldn't be straight forward.

I got a complete samco kit, and the d/v fitting shouldn't be a problem , I'm just not to happy about attacking the throttle body.

Like my bike, I just want it done yesterday

Rob, let me know what you think when you see your mates one.
