Get a wagon - pick one up at southmapton for £3k!

Also depends if you want turbo or not. Wagon 1.6gl - about £2000 or cheaper

A friend just bought a 95 model. I was going to import one for him but he wanted now.

I think he picked it up for £4000 but needs to be SVA'd.

Seemed like a good price - until he told me the mileage was 145000km! lol

Apparently you can pick up some good deals though

Especially wagons - both sports and turbos

lol at talizman.

Well it did a bit considering most of the imports that come over are very low mileage. It must have been thrashed about like anything in japan

I don't see why the high mileage is a put-off?

I appreciate that most cars from Japan are low mileage but this doesn't mean they have been kept in cotton wool.

A higher mileage car from Japan will have been thrashed to the same extent as a high mileage UK car.

Anyway, as we all know, STI's can go "pop" at mega low mileage (circa 20k ish) so there is no real hard and fast rule.

These cars have proven, and are famous for being durable, high performance cars providing they are serviced regularily and not abused whilst still enjoying the performance. Isn't that part of the main appeal?

I just prefer lower cars. Simple.

I got MY95 for £700 more than him and it only had 50000km. I would rather pay £700 more to have a lower mileage.

MONEY, if you got a MY95 WRX (saloon?) with 31,000 miles (50k kms) for £4,700 I'd say you got a pretty much one-off deal.

I haven't seen any comparable cars anywhere near that price.

Some dealers up here have MY93 K plates for £7.5k!!!!

Talizman, but thats what i have been telling people, dealers take the p*ss!!!

Ive imported a couple of cars myself and sold them on to make a quick profit. All you need to do is find some good traders in Japan.

Thats why i ended up having a big argument with a dealer on here. They have to add vat, their profit, cover for their expenses such as wages blah blah. Thats why all dealers charge higher than what you can get them from Japan.

Yes mine was a lucky one - and it was black (a saloon) which is very rare. But ive imported some other bargains and no they arent dogs!

People just need to look about

Also, before you ask, i havent started this up as a job as i cant be bothered. You need quite a bit of capital behind you and sometimes (not always), customers drive you mad.

At the moment, im quite happy being an accountant.lol

Looking at a nice skyline now - not 100% sure though.

Edited to remove the dealers name cause dont want to slag anyone off.
