Talking

Just wondered what cars people have gone on to buy after scooby ownership and why people decided to change (kids? money? potential divorce if "you dont sell that bloody thing"? etc. )

Also ,did the car you went on to own give as much driving pleasure as the scooby?

I quite fancy one of those *ahem* Vauxhall *ahem* VX220 Turbos.

Have you seen the power of them things. I need something faster than my TypeR and I can only really think of one of those or a TVR Cerbra. Although at 23, a cerbera may be pricey on insurance.

My g/f has a VX220 (the 2.2 non turbo) and thats fairly rapid (0-60 5.5s approx). Having been a passenger its well worth considering as the prices are low at the moment because everyone wants the turbo model.

Could be a good time to pick up a nice year old model?

Question

I'd like to know what to buy next too. What else has four doors, a decent boot, and is as much fun to drive as the scooby?

Another scooby? An excellent, if unimaginitive choice.
Evo? Too bumpy, hard work for commuting.
TVR? Impractical.
M3? Expensive.
RS4? Hm... not a bad idea. Stock up on wheels, widen garage door.

Any other suggestions?

Cool

My thoughts are the same as Nick200, I owned an MR2 Roadster before the Scoob and wanted more power so got the Scoob. But I am really missing the soft top on days like today Might consider the Audi A4 or Saab 93 convertible next time. Both nice motors although completely different cars from the Scoob. Both have some practicality to them as well and are cheaper than the Merc!

Beefy, the non turbo'd models are far too slow for me. I am a speed freak and I need the rush you get from blistering acceleration. Only the turbo'd model can provide me with my fix, as I said I need something faster than my TypeR.

Wish I could've got my (ex) bird to get a 220 though. She seemed to have her heart set on a 1.1 saxo...hehe. Maybe I should have introduced her to yours.

Perhaps an S2000 might be more up your street for excitement, those things can be a right handful
