Hi Guys and gals,

I am about to go to synthetic oil for my JDM STI-7. Been using standard oil for first 10,000 miles but now car should be 100% broken in so time for the switch.

I am correct to assume that for my hot climate a 10 - 30 or 10 - 40 sae synthetic is too thin ? (temp in summer between 25 - 38 degrees C and temp in winter between 15 - 30 degrees C)

My other choices in fully synthetic are 20 - 50, 10 - 50, 5 - 50 ? What would you go for in this hot climate and my JDM STI-7 modded to about 330 BHP ?

Cheers,
Ray

Our summer temps are over 35degC every day. Yesterday was 40. I use Motul 300V 15W/50.

Cheers,

George.
