Am selling my 1.9 Mi16 engine from my 405.
The engine has done 32K miles since a full professional rebuild, which included new crankshaft, con rods and pistons etc. Also had a new clutch fitted at the same time. Has also recently had new plugs, leads, coil, rotor arm and cap and idle speed control valve.

Have receipt for nearly £2600 for the engine rebuild + plus receipts for all of the bits. Engine has had regular oil changes with castrol oil and genuine Peugeot filters.
Will sell for £450 with all ancillaries including wiring loom + ECU etc and recent new alternator. Also have green induction kit.

Hi, its from a 91' 405Mi16 so its the alloy block model, am selling bits seperately. You can have the gearbox with it, but its not the Mi16 gearbox as the ratio's are wrong (I bought a replacement gearbox from a salvage yard as mine was starting to whine a bit, fitted the replacement and it wasnt the right ratio's but after spending 2 days changing it I didnt bother changing it again)

Right, a question to each of you then...

Would the engine and box fit in a G reg 205 GTI?

Would the 6-speed box fit in a 205 GTI?

Cheers,
Ade.

Hi,

Yes the engine will fit into a 205, have helped fit one into a friends E reg 1.6 Gti. The 6 speed gearbox will fit, but apparently you will lose a bit of steering lock in one direction as the 6 speed box is a bit longer than the 5 speed.

This engine in a nice late 205 gti, with 1.6 short ratio gearbox would be a good little project for someone. i wish i had kept my 1.9 gti now when the engine went bang!!
