Question

My scooby sti typeR is due to arrive in a few weeks, and, i've been told it will go bang if using only 95 ron unleaded.

The nearest garage to me that sells optimax is 10 miles away, but I suppose, i'll have to take a trip there once a week to fill up on optimax.

Is it ok to run the car just on optimax, or is it vital to add an octane booster too?

Anyone know of a site where I can order octane booster?
I've checked my local stores and they want, like 6 quid for a bottle and it only does one tank full!!

Any help, much appreciated

Matt

Try BR Developments website for octane booster. Think they're quite a bit cheaper than that.

I run my MY96 Sti on optimax only but really I should use octane booster too. I would certainly recommend both if you want your pride and joy kept at its best.

Who did you source your car through?

I ALWAYS use Esso SUL or Optimax and ALWAYS use Millers booster, without exception

Also wise to have a knocklink fitted as soon as you get it, if you doubt that its worth it, have a look at a few similar threads recently

Btw, great choice, you're gonna love it

for an octane booster I reckon you cant beat scoobymania for 10 bottles of miller octane booster, enough for 10 tanks it cost around £28 inc pnp
