Question

Just got my car back with recon engine fitted however...

If my car is stationary for a while running just on tick over, the tappits start to be heard, however if I rev slightly the noise stops for a while, then if left start to rattle again.

Is this normal?? (I cant remember it on my last impreza)

The garage have told me its because they are hydrolic & need the revs to increase oil pressure to fill them...

Pretty Sure its not as originally we were sold an early version impreza engine which wouldn't fit, & was sold this as a version 5.
It was complete with inlet manifold and all other extra's & they look the same as the ones from the original engine.

How can I tell for sure???

Need help quick as garage are now chasing for payment...

to tell for sure you just need to check two things...

are the coil packs single bolt or two?? this will tell you if its a legacy or not.

does the crank sensor have a moulded wire or plug on it? this will say if early or late...
