Question

Other than no alarm and tracker (and the 3 years warrenty) is there any difference between a European Spec STi and a UK Spec ?

Havnt the UK spec ones also got side impact air bags ?, where as the Euro ones dont have them >

Hi Attu,

I think it depends which seats you order from the Euro dealers.

Other things to look for are locking wheel nuts and a bit of extra underseal on UK spec cars.

Differences:

- No tracker - benefit - fit a better one if required and not have the same as a standard UK model, more secure.

- No alarm - benefit - as above, more secure.

- No locking wheel nuts - I bought some Subaru ones for about 15 quid - not fitted them yet, as I can't be bothered and no-one really steals alloy wheels these days do they? Especially not gold ones...

- Perhaps a bit of underseal - negligible difference IMHO. If it was JDM spec, with zero underseal then I'd be worried.

- No 'Type UK' badge on the back.

Virtually all EU imports now come with 3yr pan European warranty.

As far as I know there are also no options on the STi seats - they all come with the same ones, which don't allow for side air-bags. The standard WRX does allow for seat options, one of which supports side air-bags.

I think that's about it....
