AP 4 pot kit - 16'' wheels

OK,
I've decided to do something about the poor brakes on my MY99.I would like the AP 4pot kit so that I don't have to run to the expense of new 17'' wheels.My questionis this:-
Will I notice a vast improvement over my current std system?
Is the fitting of this kit reasonably straight forward?
