I'm sure this has been asked before - but what pads do people recommend to upgrade to?
Basically I cooked my standard pads in a fast cross country blast the other day - and they now feel like ****. My thoughts are therefore get the brake (and probably clutch fluid) changed for DOT5.1 and upgrade the front pads for something a little harder that will withstand the heat.

Help much appreciated.

Ferodo DS2500 pads in the front make a huge difference compared to OEM items and you wont cook them either.
I put these on my MY01 and they are great.

DS2500's are the best aftermarket pad I've used, in fact they are the only one I've used!!! but after much research on Scoobynet og course.

I must get around to ordering them for my WRX, anyone know where the best deal is at present?

dot5.1 is a bit of a fallacy (most race fluids are "only" dot4!!) a high quality dot4 is our normal recomend together with ds2500 (as above) or our preferred option......Pagid rs4.2.1 similiar friction / performance but IMO better pedal modulation and confidence (although both are very good for fast road work!!)
