Weird clutch pedal moment...
was driving along the other evening, shifted up from 4->5 and the clutch pedal didn't come all the way backc up, the clutch hada enguaged as I still had drive. I tried depressing and releasing the pedal a couple of times with no joy. Just as I was starting to contemplate pulling over and phoning the lovely people at Subaru assistance it came back up with a little "pop".
Weird. Has anyone had his happen to them? If so was it the symptom of anything serious?

Hiya, You may have broken or lost the little return spring on the clutch fork on top of the clutch housing, If you're a good contortionist you can see it without taking the I/C off but you risk a pulled muscle doing so. If it's gone get a new one from a Subaru dealer they'll only be pence and they are a strange strength.

Either that or the pedal needs adjusting slightly..
There is two nuts you can adjust (14mm IIRC) just above the pedal etc..
If the spring was not on there I wouldn't expect it to pop back and work again etc.. as I found out when I refitted my gearbox and forgot to fit the return spring.. Might be a bit weak though.

thanks for the advice guys, now I know what to get the dealership guys to check for (the car is going in sometime soon to have a possible piston slap issue looked at) so I'll make sure they check out said spring
