going to buy 17's with offset et40 7*17
need assistance. going to buy 17" alloys with tyres second hand, they are 5 stud, the offset is ET40 and they are 7*17, the correct offset for a scooby is ET48 so will i get any problems with these alloys if i buy them. if i will get problems can you guys/gals tell me.
Thanks alot guys/gals your help will be very appreciated.

I think the ideal offset for a classic is ET52, I run 17" ET48 and get slight rubbing on the rear, easily cured by some modification to the arch trim.
I'm sure others will comment, but I would have thought ET40 would be a problem.

I would say forget about the tyres. I had the 205/40s and they didnt seem that good. When changed to 215/40 for 17s, it was much better.
Not sure about the offset

Are these for a subaru? You say they are 5 stud be are they the correct PCD for your car. From the offset and the size of tyre (all completely wrong) i'd say there not for a subaru. You may be lucky to get the correct pcd but it would be far from ideal. The offset for standard wheels is 55mm, most prodrive wheels are about 52mm and i think the max i'd go to would be 48mm. 40mm is just way off..... your closer to the 22B wheel offset rather than a normal scooby (have you seen how big the 22b arches are???). I'd give these a miss and go for a wheel with the correct offset and tyre size (205/45 or 215/40)....... no matter how cheap these are.
