Just fitted a set of new 4 pot genuine subaru calipers, discs and pads to the front end of my MY95 WRX, major problem though, can't get any pressure at the pedal. My guess is that the brakes need bleeding, I've tried this but all that is coming out is fluid, no air. Can anyone advise me on the correct way to bleed these brakes and what could be the problem.

Thanks

Steve

are you bleeding the rears thro' as well as if you've allowed air into the m/cylinder this will migrate into the rear circuit........has the car got ABS? you may need to bleed the ABS pump (nipples on top of unit!!)

Question

Alyn,
How do you bleed the ABS unit?? I presume you just crack off the nipple and bleed in the normal manner??

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you d=id put the caliper's on with the bleed nipple at the top didn't you???????
if it's at the bottom you'll never get the air out!

Ron,

In the words of Homer Simpson, DOOOOHHH!!!

The hoses seemed to line up better that way, but I have now swapped them over, bled all four calipers and the problem is sorted, many thanks everyone's suggestions.
