How cheap have you got a set of Goodyear Eagle F1s (locally fitted)?
Having missed out on the cheap Goodyear's at Crossroad and the cheap Toyos from mytyres I set about calling local tyre fitters for quotes on a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle F1s (205/50/R16) as I really need some new tyres.
Calling the place that's usually best value round here I got a quote of £420 all inc. Coming in at a shade over a hudred quid a corner I thought this was alright.
My next call got me a quote of £360 all inc. which kind of surprised me. A quick call back to fitter number one and they dropped their price straightaway to £350.
I've now got a quote even cheaper than this and should hopefully have some nice new tyres bright and early on Satrurday morning!
Anyway - this just got me thinking - have I got this price as low as I'm likely to? How much are you guys out there paying?
Cheers
Marcel

Marcel, I got a set of the 16 inch F1s fitted by Crossroad Gargae a couple of weeks back for £260 all in.
Might be worth giving them a call (I think the number's on the old thread) as I think the supply problem affected the 17 inch tyres more than the 16's.
Cheers,
Steve

Try MichelDever's (01962 774572) they aren't that far from you and they are very slick and their price is always reasonable.
What tyres do you currently have? See here http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?ThreadID=213452
Maybe we could do a deal help reduce the cost of your new tyres

Try Crossroads - they are selling them at £230ish for a set of 4. People getting them delivered have had problems receiving tyres but those who have gone in person have had them fitted no problems. Looks like they are about 20 miles from you.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was originally hoping to get some fitted at Crossroads but they stopped returning my emails and I couldn't get them on the phone which kind off out me off...
So I got a set fitted for a 80 quid a corner just up the road from me this morning.
Nice to be in a car with legal tyres again!
Cheers
