Question

I am fitting a 4 point Sparco harness for hillclimbs but retaining the standard seat belts for everyday use.

I run production but have been advised that a harness will be safer than a standard seat belt.

I have bolted in the two rear straps to the rear seat belt locating mounts (albeit they would be better located higher to avoid undue pressure on the seat in the event of a roll)and the offide strap where the existing seat belt is located between the front and rear doors.

On the other strap (nearside) that locates to the seat, I have undone the existing nut that holds the existing seat belt anchorage point but the bolt appears to be captive within the seat mount although it feels as though the bolt has just been pushed through the hole and then covered in a sort of plastic coated paint. I haven't got around to taking the seat out and drilling out the bolt which I don't really want to do.

Anyone any advice please?.

Cheers

Stu

Fit the other lap belt to the inner, rear bolt that secures the driver's seat.

Its far better to locate the belts to the car, rather than to the seat.
