I've got a CDXMP30 which I think is the model superceeded by the MP40.

You will need the adaptor to convert the Impreza's harness to ISO.

The unit is pretty good but seems to suffer unduly from excess heat. On a recent trip to Portugal the damned thing stopped working in temps of 30 degrees as the heat from the engine was just too much for it. They also seem pretty fragile.

Still pretty good sound and the ability to play MP3's is well worth the cash. I got my older unit from Empire Direct (crap service cheap prices) for £150 which is the price of its replacement there.

cheers nacro. big fan of sony's and like the look of the mp40 much more than the mp30. got all the features i want but gather the cd-text/id3-tag still only scrolls two or three times which is something i didnt like on my old sony ?

empiredirect - cheers. i'll maybe use it to beat a local supplier down. halfords are the usual £70 over any sensible price
