What is needed (00MY)other than the transmission? Is a rear diff required to match?

Thanks.

Is it just a take off the old and put in the new bits? Changing the fluids obviously.

Is there a differece between the STi the type R and the type RA ratio? I need a closer ratio to suit my MD304 but not so close I top out at 140mph or so,
