i just got a palm 505 and i cant make it sync with either palm software or outlook on my laptop- the laptop runs XP- the desktop, where it works ok, is running 2000????

its using a USB connection- the laptop makes a chirp! but does nothing else when i hit sync.....any ideas?

you need to install the palm desktop software (hotsync). check your device manager that the usb is working OK.

 

instaled the s/ware- device manager doesnt see the palm on the laptop but desktop is ok?

 

You should have installed the software before plugging the Palm into the USB port.

Not sure, but you'll probably have to uninstall the device from the registry. Check on Palms Support site for instructions
