turbo flutters

hi,

my turbo seems to have a flutter sound to it for some reason when easing of the gas slowly, but it still pulls ok apart from when i floor it i get like a realy loud whistle more so than i used to get, and a sort of like crackle kind of sound?

any ideas???????????

Sounds like the dump valve - if the whistling sound is like blowing air over a bottle-top, it's leaking under boost. The fluttering sound is quite possibly it not releasing pressure at low boost (you then get air bouncing up & down from somewhere).

I'd check hosing; if that's ok, give the BOV a bit of a once-over (check it's clean/nothing bunging it up), or just replace the thing depensing on how old it is.

Might be completely wrong here, but that would be my guess

may be wrong by i have a fluttering noise on spool up which is the compressor cutting air, only noticed this noise when the de-cat down pipe was fitted.

Pat i have the same noise when i fitted a magnex downpipe, could never work out what the noise was,nice to see some one els has it to is your down pipe a twin dump. has ony one else had this noise after fitting a d/p.
