'ello all,

Almost seems too good to be true, anyone got/used their controller?

From http://www.boostedperformance.com/boost.htm

What makes this a super boost controller? What makes this better than every other $100 to $1000 controller? Why is this a F.W.D boost controller? Here's the scoop.
All those A.W.D guys have it easy!! Rev it up and let it go. Not very hard. We F.W.D guys with good power to weight ratio have it bad. What's bad you ask? Spinning big slicks all through first, second, and third gear on a hot sticky track.

Our shop car spins into the 100's on the street while using sticky retreads. Cars like this one can't launch more than 1500 rpm's on the street. An A.W.D with the same mods can let loose at 4500+ rpm's.

Here is our solution: we now sell a boost controller that gives perfect boost in every gear. If you buy one of those OTHER controllers, here is the problem. If you set the boost on the street for 20 psi - what happens? Well, in first gear you can press the gas down almost 1/4 without spinning. Second gear maybe half way. Third gear 3/4. Forth and Fifth - gun it. Anyone who has driven a fast F.W.D on the street, knows this is impossible. If the temp. humidity, altitude, or street surface change even 5% you go up in smoke.

Now for the best part!! Our unit lets you set boost in each gear! With each gear change you get maximum traction at all times. For example, 1st gear 10psi / 2nd 12psi / 3rd 16psi / 4th and 5th 20+ psi. It doesn't get any better then this. This new unit is all alloy and fully adjustable. It is of the highest quality using only the finest ball and spring style controller.

On Sale This Month - $250.00

Sounds like an MBC when they say ball/spring, but how to gear judge. The nearest to independent boost for each gear is to be able to adjust the duty cycle by gear like AVC-R or by acceleration like some modified JECS and Denso OEM ECUs on 99/00 UK or 02 STi. However, the adjustments are all relatively coarse compared with what would be possible if you had a boost and max/min duty cycle mappable for each gear by TPS and RPM, but it doesn't sound like it exists. Something that fully learned all this would be even better. The AVC-R sounds like it gets near in some respects, but certainly not all.

How could it learn what you wanted? Set target boost and then allow the "device" to set the maps accordingly?

The AVC-R has a target boost and wastegate duty cycle linked together. Once it is in self-learn mode it will constantly adjust the duty cycle to get to the target boost.
