STi MOT and the decat exhaust
Its MOT time for my 99 Sti5.
Now, theres no cat on it, and i've no doubt the emissions are going to be high too.
Whats the rule? As its a non UK car, theres effectively no spec on the car so what criteria does it have to meet?
The two school sof thought have been
1. Test as a UK car/P1 or nearest equivalent.
2. Apply the pre 74 rules to it.
Guess which one i prefer!
Anyone else had any experience of this?
Cheers

Do you still have the catted downpipe? If yes take it wth you to the MOT station. Let them know you've got it.They might pass you on the strength that swopping over is to much hassle. If not, Either find someone with one you could borrow or blether away to the mechanic at the Test centre about the Joys of Scooby ownership and they may let you off
Borrow a UK centre section from someone!
As long as you warm it up (drive it hard to the MOT station
) and the cat is full working order, it *might* fail the idle test, but should pass the fast idle check (which is enough for an MOT!)
