Just had 2nd attempted break-in in the space of 4 months. I am totally p****d off and thinking of selling up because it looks like they'll keep coming back until they succeed or I get bashed trying to stop them. This time I was only in the next room and its not worth the risk anymore.

Sorry to hear that m8.
I have got a couple of Subaru security stickers on the bottom of the driver and passenger windows warning a potential thief that the car has an alarm/imobiliser etc. (touch wood- no attempted break ins to date!)
Is it someone trying to steal the car for a joy ride or are they looking to steal items from the car? ie.Stereo
If looking to joy ride, either move to a different area or but an old banger:-(

Sad to hear that.. I blame the so-called criminal system.. It's the innocent that suffers, if you try to protect your own property you end up as the guilty party NOT the victim..

They have not touched the car, both times they tried to break in for the keys. This is what you get for following the goverments advice and making our cars secure. When will they learn that its the thief thats the problem and not blame us for having things they want to steal!

I also considered selling when it happened to me 2 months ago but i thought why should i let the scum of this earth dictate what car i should have.Went out and bought a MY03 WRX and put in extra security in the house.

Dont sell the car , as someone said dont let them dictate to you what car you should have. Get a few more security measures , one good one would be blackjax , they could steal the keys all the time and still never get anymore than a mile away.

Im going to be investing in blackjax when i get my subaru , plus loads more security. I know its a sad that we have to take all these measures to keep our posessions ours.

You need to have good house security as well as the car these days.
I can see why you would want to sell and I agree with the above that you shouldn't have to sell it, but if upping the house security and wot not still makes you feel unsafe then its difficult.

Halogen floodlighting outside etc, I've been looking at X10, they have reasonably cheap wireless cameras and stuff you can link up to your PC or TV. Very sorry to hear about your predicament

Tinny,

Sad world we live in but sell up if its causing probs. It is only a car after all and not worth having your personal space broken into and having your health threatened.

Just my thoughts.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, don't sell your car because of these to$$ers, but more visible security can only help as a deterent.
