We don't have in Russia any company which can install reprogrammed ECU (like ECUTEK). PPPs for STI7 are still coming and no sense to wait for them .
Local tuning company proposed the next plan to tune my STI 7:

- HKS exhaust
- HKS downpipe
- Deck or SuperSprint exhaust manifold
- HKS SSQV blow off valve
- SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator
- Greddy e-01 boost controller

What's excess or wrong in this scheme?
What else should I install for safety purposes?

I also read that it's strongly recommended to upgrade fuel pump. Should I change FPR in this case as well?

Anton yes uprating the fuel pump is essential.Also your list shows no method of optimising fuel or ignition only boost.

 

Is it essential to optimize fuel and ignition in my case? If I install additionally fuel computer like Greddy e-manage will it solve the issue?
If yes, may be it'll be better to order ECUTEK reprogrammed ECU via Internet? Id it OK?
But we have a bad 98 fuel so I would like the car to be reprogrammed on our local fuel...

Why not go the full ScoobySport route. They can supply you with a full turbo back zorst and also a plug-n-play ecu that is tailored to the specs of their zorst. At least this way you will have a system that should run in harmony and should also be pretty safe. Just my two cents and this is the route I am in the process of taking. I have the zorst (which is a big improvement in itself) now sorting the ecu.

Anton to get most from the car you really need to be able to control fuel and ignition.You d'ont just want to up the boost epecially on bad quality fuel.I'm afraid I know little about the Greddy fuel computer.It really is in the hands of the person mapping it.You could try and persuade the tuner to become an Ecutek agent I suppose!
Looking through your list again I would advice against the HKS Downpipe.Its design is flawed.It is not open mouthed so the wastegate gas does not have somewhere to flow easily so making the turbo operate less efficiently and hinder spool up.

 

Anton as for the HKS SSDV.I would'nt have thought you really need it.The stock DV you have should be more than capable of handling the boost your car will make.Only really needed when running bigger turbos,much higher boost etc.Its quite expensive and the money could be put to better use(imho)

And they will have the new version of the PPP in the very near future

 

Subaru Russia doesn't provides STIs with ANY warranty!
So actually I don't care what to install on the car. )

 

Nor does Subaru UK if use non Subaru air freshener(LOL)

Whether there is a warranty or not, I strongly agree with your logic of getting it set up locally.

I have many customers in Russia and have heard plenty about Russian fuel. Whilst Nick may sell you a PPP, I would not want to send you an Ecutek mapped ECU without testing it on the fuel locally available to you.

Hi @nton

I would prefer not to. The DD logs would only show how it was performing on the standard map. You can estimate the difference to a point, but to make the work worthwile, you need to be very sure of the fuel quality.

I thing you will get better results from someone doing this locally and adjusting things to match your fuel.

I am not sure how many Subarus there are in Moscow, but your local tuner may be interested in becoming a Moscow Ecutek installer, if you explain how it works.
