Unhappy

Hi Guys,

I curbed one of my wheels a few months ago and the rear left wheel was left with a slight warp when driving.

I finally got a new rim and also a new wheel hub <--- thing the wheel bolts to.

They were putting the hub on today and now call me up and said I need a new bearing as everytime you 'press' a bearing out of the wheel hub you damage it and it must be replaced. Sounds like a bunch of crapola to me becuase why would Subaru sell the hub as a separate part to the bearing if everytime they had to replace the hub they had to replace the bearing ?

Help needed, thoughts please.

Big thanks !
Ray

Ray,

If you damaged the hub then i would have thought the bearing would have been damaged as well if not i would not pull the bearing out the housing and refit in the new hub as problems may arise later if you do get it out without busting it,for the sake of a few quid i would fit the new bearing.
Every bearing i have fitted is always a seperate item from the hub as the bearing is a wearing part and the hub is not.

It sounds like the garage are suggesting doing it properly and not pulling a fast one.

Hope this helps

Paul
