30k service £326 inc vat all in.
This includes 10% SIDC discount, which I'll give even if your not a member, because you use ScoobyNet and we always want new customers.
We offer a free courtesy car or can give you a lift into town if required.

Hope this is of interest

Ian,

That's a pretty fantastic price, given that my local dealer would like 440-480 for the same work. Plus there's always £20 worth of 'misc' on the bill as well.

The service isn't due until April, but for that money I will certainly make the journey - I'll check back nearer the date just to confirm prices.

I guess you've just got yourself another customer!

Thanks,

Dave.

Ian,

Forgot to ask - is there any issue with Euro Imports? Mine's a Dutch (uk spec of course) MY00. A couple of dealers have turned there noses up in disgust that's all.

Have had my Belgium MY01 serviced by Wildings from new. Malcolm on the service desk is very helpful and bears no grudges towards EU imports.

The sales guy I spoke to a year or so ago had a different view though. He told me all sorts about different specifications, no warranty etc. just the usual stuff to frighten the punter, a shame really as if I ever buy a UK scoob, I will go out of my way to purchase it from somewhere else (like Stan Palmers?).

Just had 30k service done and it was £446.98 Inc vat. This was standard with the only extra being Texaco fuel additive (£10.35+vat).

I guess at the prices being quoted by Stan Palmers, I need to give Wildings an opportunity to give me a keener price otherwise it looks like Stan Palmers might be getting a new customer.

realising this may open up a can or worms... but is there any reason why the dealer prices are so different? I mean, it not like SP's and JW's are that far apart - maybe I could expect a difference between North and South for instance...

just wondering...

BruceR - quick question, the sales guy you spoke of, don't suppose that he'd moved over from JW Honda - older guy, with specs?

Just asking as I had some 'issues' when I enquired about buying a scoob about the same time.

Don't know who the guy was as I spoke to him on the phone. I couldn't get through to service so asked him a technical question. When he asked whether the car was an import and I said yes, he said I had just made a big mistake etc, etc... Strange, as I was reasonably happy with the £5k I had just saved. You never know, maybe JW sales people are very well paid and a £5k saving would not be of interest to them. Having a reasonable conscious I didn't take a test drive, drink their coffee, quiz them etc. and then go and import (I did borrow a brochure though, sorry). It amuses me that JW are so flippant with their potential future customers (tax and currency fluctuations allowing).

That said, I must repeat that I have had very good experiences of the service department (albeit at a price). Maybe they should be running the sales department as they seem to have mastered the art of customer care very well, and not discounted the prices……

Ian, SP, I assume from what I read you do the discounted prices AND the customer care bit?

Iain at SP,

Sounds too good to be true seeing as my 30K'er cost me £450 at Welch's in Cambridge.

What are the prices for 37.5K and 45K services? My 37.5K is on Tues 25th March at £110 - doubt u can beat that by much but Im hoping ur 45k will be a lot cheaper.

Thanks,
Simon.
