Has anyone ever seen the biplane spoiler...what do you think?

yeah, not mine either...I turned the car down. Just wondering what others thought. From what I hear its a rarity and the spoiler is worth about 950 quid.

I'll wait for the next 'normal' TypeR to come through the auctions.

How do you view those darn pics with a red cross in the box.

depending on what browser you use, I use Opera on a Linux system.
I right click on the image, 'copy image address' and paste it into the browser.

If you use IE, I think you can view the image properties there and copy the text to clip board...etc..

Its a bug on the board.....some pics I can see, some I can't...but they are always there when I follow the link (unless they have been removed)

that looks truly awful (hopefully no offence to anyone who owns one).

it really looks like it has been tacked on as an afterthought, unlike most scooby whale-tails which look an awesome part of the car, even when put on as an after-market mod.

 

ive got a tommy kiara bi-plane spoiler that looks a lot better if anyone wants to buy it?

 

although, I wonder if its worth buying and then swaping the spoiler back for an STI-6 spoiler. It a low mileage car and I can get it cheap.

I have a STi type RA ver6 with a biplane wing on the back.
not sure if it's the same as your pictures.

But you're right, it's everyone's taste, but it is individual.
The wing is off a s201/electra copy.

Mine has clear indicators, 555 alcantra seats, 4 doors, A/C , roof vent.
I think those are all the peculiarities.

the rear spoiler on the 6 is the same as a lot ive seen the do have the same spoiler on the 201 but the 201 ive seen was a 4dr in japan a lot fo 6,s have that must be an opp extra....chris

That car is an Sti 6 Type R V Limited, and that spoiler was an option on them, it's quite probably as it left the factory...although the wheels aren't, they should be gold RAYS 6 spokes in either 16 or 17 inch, not the 17 inch New Age WRX/Legacy alloys it's fitted with.

 

The thing about what a thing's "worth" is that it's only worth what someone would pay for it.

Given that this is an abomination in the eyes of God, I don't think people'll give you 950 notes for it

looks poo, but that looks like an auciton car, so if you were gonna buy it you can always put a nice one on! not too much expense esp for a good car

 

Sorry guys but they look like a Max P bolt on option from some Fenog Sport company in a carrot shed... not my taste

They just look a bit plastic where as the norm V5-6 looks like its been designed to gel with the car, the first one has a huge side profile and looks uncomfortable.

Gedi what sort of monay are you looking at spending and whats your preference for colour and spec may have what your looking for.

Just to let you all know. The car went for 1.6mil. Could have been on the road in the UK for £12,000. Thats amazing for an STI-6 TypeR. It only had 39,000Km's on the clock.

A bit gutted as I could have got that one and replaced the spoiler as dazza said.

Oh well, the Toyko auction is up next. Lets see what appears there.
