'Chips away' are having problems. As soon as they close the doors it lifts the laminate as it pushes up against the weather strip. Any ideas as to how to overcome this problem?

I have a Uk300 and this window tinting done about 5 weeks ago and no problems whatso ever.

Mind you it took them the best part of the day to do, they had to dry it will a fan or something I was told, the bugger wanted more money.

In the end I paid £180 for a really good job!

Cheers

4 of us from the Eastbourne group used Securfix and they did all the cars in one day, with time to spare. No problems whatsoever.

Looked at tinting the windows a little while ago but went for the noisy exhaust instead. the best company seemed to be based in the Birmingham area......apparently they "feather" the tint material at the edges of the window so that it blends in.

The company name escapes me but Paul at TSL seems to know them as he used them to tint the windows in his 22B...From memory the TSL website is tsl-motorsport.co.uk

Any help??

The only way to resolve the film lifting when shutting the door is:- don't shut the door for a couple of hours until adhesive as dried, As the liquid srayed on the window takes time to cure so film does not adhere straight away. Use a drier such as an hair dryer to speed the curing process.

This should resolve the problem

Hi, i do window tinting for a living, and having now owned 2 imprezas, and have tinted bout 12 of em, if applied properly and left to cure then there should be no probs, with the windows being frameless they are very easy to work on and the edges of the tint should be filed and flush with the window. what i have seen on a few is the rubbers are very tight so the film should be heated and made sure it is cured before the doors are shut, hope this helps.

Hi,

Had my STi 7 tinted last week by "South Coast Tints" in Southampton. Job took them 3 hours, and when done you cannot use your windows for 3 days until the film has set. They use "SunGard" window film.

cost was about £170 (they dont' charge vat) for the whole car.

They did my beeemer about 18 months ago and had no problems with that either.

Oh, and it has completely transformed the look of the car too.. :-)

Their website is www.sctints.co.uk

Cheers !

Pentagon SupaGlass did a superb job on mine.
Had the car for a day and I couldn't open the Windows for another two.

This is the firm the dealer uses and recommends.

James.
