A cracking drive - even the autos were OK (which the early ones were). The last SF5 STi was manual IIRC and was the pick.

Current shape STi has yet to be released, but the CrossSports is a beauty - 30mm lower, front and rear sus upgrades (inverted struts up front!), 16.5:1 box (not variable ratio), HIDs, SportShift on the Autos etc., etc. STi in just about everything but name!!

Some have rumoured that subaru UK will do an STi in the autumn.

 

Toerag - apparently there are plans for a Forester STi JDM and Euro... and autumn is a rough date as you say...
