Question

Thinking of buying a turbo timer second hand of ebay, just wondering how you fit it. I asked the guy selling it and he said pretty easy if i get myself a wiring loom it will just plug in behind the ignition. My question is where do i get this loom? and is it Subaru specilist stuff? and will it void my warranty messing about with the ignition.

Any help would be appreciated.

James.

I resisted the temptation to fit one, do you actually intend walking away from your vechicle while its still running ?

if it is a newish turbo timer then you can buy the harness for it which just plugs into your ignition then you just clip you turbo timer to it... on mine i did still have to send a wire to the speed signal and rpm signal at the ecu and one last one to the hand brake so if the car gets broken into while the engine is running as soon as the hand brake is taken off the engine is stopped..

Exclamation

Security was an issue but I would also be worried it would tick over and not stop.

unless you are driving on the motorway at 70+mph and then all of a sudden stop you dont have to leave it to long... if you did that which i have my timer says 3 mins... but usually round town e.t.c with some stops its around 30 secs to 1 min so i usually wait..

I normally give it last half mile/mile, well off turbo under 3000rpm and give it a minute or so just ticking over. By the time I have sorted myself out its normally a minute or so anyway. I leave it longer after a longer higher speed journey.

Ive got a clifford one. By the time i switch off the engine, get my stuff and get out the car. Alarm it up and walk off, it switches off.

Also have the ability to switch it off via my alarm if i dont want it to run the full time. Nice and easy
