Chaps.

This might seem fundamental, but have been given different opinions on this.

SUL versus UL - is there much difference in performance / engine wear?

Subaru say no point using it, Power engineering say reset your ECU and run optimax for better performance - noticeable!!

How does one reset the ECU (battery disconnect??)

What is the accepted view on fuel usage ((almost)standard UK turbo)..

I would never run an impreza turbo on anything less than SUL.

Import I woudl run on SUL/Optimax + octane booster.

ECU reset depends on your cars MY.

Easist way is to disconnect battery but this can screw up alarms, clocks and radios so make sure you know how to sort them out after you have disconnected before you do. Leave disconnected for about an hour then reconnect and go out and drive normally. None of this crap about finding a hill and floor it or thrash the car as hard as you can, thats old wives tales .

If you car is MY98-MY00 they will learn over a few miles so no need to rest really. MY01 onwards alter to fuel fuel almost immediately so no reason to. Older cars it maybe worht doing a reset.

You can alos reset by connecting diagnostic wires under the dash, always sounded a bit iffy to me.

Your dealer can also do a reset by using their "select monitor".
