Anyone else had this problem with the new impreza GX sport? Haven't used the boot very much over the month since I bought it. Last week noticed the carpet was damp, so removed it along with the board underneath. Today 1" water under the space saver. Looks as though it may be coming in through the bolts from the spoiler - more than a few drips tho!!! Back to the garage methinks...

Missyc, i've had that. Plz let me know the outcome at the garage.
mines a 97 sport.
Someone suggested it could be coming in from the light clusters,
def not that for me tho. got to be either spoiler or an adjustment of the boot lid.
mmmmmmm have thought some more...it appears the boot seal is wet on the inside, on the lower edge. Its running down from the spoiler on inside of boot lid. Gotta be
Thnx in advance, plz let us know what they find on yours.

Missy, quite a few of us have had this problem, and the rear light clusters, particularly the near side one, are a favorite culprit, (as was the case on my MY00).
Have a look and see if the jack compartment is filling up too, thats a good clue.
As your car is new you should not have a problem, as you say, its back to the dealer! Good luck!

Hi Impret-Sir, I had some oggin in the jack compartment as well.
That was first time i noticed the problem, the water was almost 3 " deep in the spare tyre well. I think the reason for it being in the jack compartment is, the water overspills the well, into the jack comp (and the other side), as u take bends.
I sealed the lights but still had a problem.

Had flu last week - so no driving! boo-hoo...lots of bed instead!!

It's clean water tho'. Seems too much to be dripping through from the bolts. Too dark now to have a closer look. Will keep y'all posted.

Garage can fit me in on 13th!!! They want it for a couple of days to check it out (and respray spoiler which has some blisters in paint.

In the meantime - let's hope it stops raining.

=D

Just got the car back from the dealers (courtesy car a toyota carina for 3 days!). Said I'd let you know what they found...

Problem was the seal (or lack of it!) under the spoiler (it's a 2.0 GX Sport with the high rise spoiler - sorry! don't know what else to call it!) causing water to collect & drip through the bolts into boot.

Glad to have it back!
