Shock horror my scoob is not well.
Warmed up to normal temp.
On M3, clear her out a little and then drop down to 70ish. I then just push on a bit and the engine gives the impression of a misfire. A sort of splutter, fuel starvation like. Come off the pedal a little and nurse the revs up and away she goes. Full grin power restored.
This has happened four or five times now in varied conditions but always on the motorway.
Before I really start to look into it. Any bells ringing amongst you lot?
Nothing obvious under the bonnet, you know, plug leads lose, pipes off. That sort of thing
If not the service has come early.

Question

When my '98 had a similar misfire it turned out to be one plug lead breaking down at high revs. Scoob plug leads are not easy to get at, and can suffer invisible damage by ham-fisted technicians at service.

Please elaborate on your theory Sti..........
Yep I must admit plug leads was my first thought. But I guess they are not cheap so I gonna be sure before I spend what little cash I have.

Sti don`t worry I have searched the old threads and found loads of overboost ones.
I would say not. As all threads tend to suggest ones foot is very much through the floor before this happens.
Mine is not, on this ocassion. This happens with motorway use, 5th gear stuff.

You dont say what model of scoob you have, but replacement leads for a scoob with a coil pack which is centered on the inlet Manifold can be got for £20-25, bosch ones from LSUK. Or goto Subaru UK and have them remove your underwear in one swift upward motion.
If you have the older model scoob with the coil packs on the end of each lead then get back to me as I cant be bothered typin it just nooo
