Wink

Got a scooby my99 wagon, had it ppp'd, a jr panel filter, a dawes device, quick shify, eibachs and the skirts etc colour coded.
Want MORE MORE MORE grunt, have been given lots of conflicting advice as to the whats what of power increases. Think my car is around the 250bhp mark. BUT this is not enough, these cars are a bloody addiction !!!!
So what next ?
Say for example i have £600 TOPS !! to spend, what can i do, where can i get it, how much and what results ???
I know this is alot to ask ..but i also know scoobynet is the place to get decent answers !
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Sell your PPP, fit a down and mid pipe, add a Tek 2 or 3. At a guess, you will see around 275bhp.

Thumbs up

What I wouldn't give for £600 to spend on the scoob....

I have a MY99 (RB5 WR) - Decat it is my advice...... loads of safe horsepower - REALLY quick spool up on the turbo - mines boosting at 2500rpm now, and reaching 1.1 bar at 3500rpm :-)

Best change I ever made!

I paid £180 for my downpipe (including fitting). I also had it booked for the centre pipe to be decatted, but although there is a cat chamber on it, the cat isn't at home (must be part of the PPP - worth checking!!)

You could also go for a balanced manifold for that money.......

The down-pipe on your '99 should be the last remaining cat on the car - on the MY01 onwards (correct me if I'm wrong!) theres a cat in the up-pipe. Fortunately you don't have to worry about that....

The PPP ecu isn't as potent as the TEK jobbies - although if I were you and I'd just forked out for it, I'd hold on to it for a while yet and get your power from other places (it's not cheap, is it!!!) - when you run out of other tricks, the TEK ecu will give it another leap forward.........

Allegedely, a balanced manifold will give you more power again.... although the mechanic who suggested it to me said that although its the biggest safe power gain he's seen after a decat, it will take away the distinctive sound of the engine..... Anyone who knows better, feel free to correct me!! (as thats the only reason I'm not sure about fitting it myself!!!)
