Someone just go spank him

I'll race you in the conditions I was driving in today (slightly damp and very cold (but not ice)) I could feel the front wheel spinning a little in 2nd and 3rd gear on a slight uphill...imagine what your FWD or a RWD would be doing

Red face

Is this the Nova that ran at Santa pod last year ?

Beware David, 1/4mile needs a bit technique, we have a 460 bhp EVO up here that can't get out the 12's and a 370bhp that runs 13's (slow Sam )
Any lag between the gears kills the times ! Better get the N2O on too !!!!

HOW ABOUT YOU LOT PUTTING YOU MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS???
What sum ££££ are we talking here could pay for my rebuild

Guys, Excuse my ignorance, but what is a NOVA, is it a car? i've only known of a Supernova aka. a star that explodes into hyperspace (track?) while its mass its been accelerated.

Nova,
yes your car weighs considerably less, its just ashame its a shed
You "may" think that your car is excellent, we know on the other hand that 1/4 mile times mean nothing if it cannot produce it in both wet and dry conditions (which BTW you cant ) so even though we have our "barges" they are still a damn sight better than your rusting vauxhall

And it breaks down more, its definately not standard as they never put a 2ltr turbo engine in a nova and produced one (i dont need to change my engine as its already a 2ltr turbo ) i can also go round corners, get sub 5 sec 0-60 time in the WET and yet your car cannot be classed as a nova anymore (if you have replaced the engine to a non-specified one then its going to fall into the class of "kit car" )
My car doesnt need NOS (as its a pathetic way of tuning if you cannot get the power you need from a 2ltr turbo, your doing something wrong somewhere ) and the final fact is, my car turns heads in standard form, a nova in standard form got laughed at and even modified people will just think it looks stupid
There you go

At least a nova would fit in may garage (I don't own an Impreza).

Does the Nova in question have air-con?

Does it ride like something other than roller skate?

Would you mind driving a 4 hour journey in it?

Is it a drag special? Stripped out and even worse to drive than a regular Nova?

I must be getting too old!

got to say my nova has never broken down!!!

TB-bring your car to york and we will see who has the last laugh.
putting my car down is only making things worse for the granade brigade LOL

oh and if you knew anything about nitrous you would know it isn't there for a power hike only.

typical snobbynet, take your head out of your **** and you may learn something LOL

So is your Nova a drag special or not?

I'm not putting your car down, but I can't justify making such a machine, a track day special maybe, something with at least a few creature comforts.

You can trim 150kg off an Impreza, but it would leave it noisey, raw and not the sort of car you want to use every day (carpets, sound proofing, rigid shell seats, tools, spare tyre, air-con, elec windows, abs, air bags, you get the picture).

Horses for courses I suppose. A cossie engine in a fiesta works well as drag tool, buy an ex race/rally car and all the shell work is done for you, just weld in the mounts and axle (no small task it has to be said) and you're away.

How does that Nova put the power down in the corners? Does it use an LSD, semi slicks?

So Nova,
does that mean you dont have a scooby bonnet vent on your car as its running too hot then?
I know what the properties of NO2 are thankyou and its pretty silly running it with a turbo if you cannot cool your engine as when you are not running it your going to still cause damage so as i said, its for pathetic loosers who cant tune engines
AND what is this GRANADE? never heard of one?

We all know as well as most nova drivers do that nova's are pants but to run in the 12's is a bit special and respect where its due,i wish my scoob was near that.

A stock WRX engine mounted only to its drivetrain, i'll bet, will do less than 12's but that wouldn't make it a car would it? It'll still outrun a Nova though, in any track!!!!

I've said this to friend and family before, but if I ever win the lottery I'm going to buid the fastest Impreza on the planet and it'll be using the nova boy method. I'll bin the week flat 4 and stick something stronger in, new box, diffs, stripped out. The only part of it that'll be an impreza is the shell (which IMO means it isn't actually an impreza anymore but we'll not go there). Then I'll thrash everyone down the 1/4 mile and I'll get respect cause I have a really cool car that is bugger all use for anything other than 1/4 mile!

The difference is nearly everyone, if not everyone on this site with a scooby choose to keep the car as an everyday, weekend or track prospect. I've been in Andy F's car (11.8 1/4 mile) and it still got seats, interior, original engine, etc. It's still very much impreza and despite the loud zorst and stiff suspension would be bearable as an everyday prospect to some....oh and its also pretty fast round a track. You can't make a drag car and then compare it to all rounders. Go to a top fuel dragster site and challenge them cause that would be more applicable! Of course, they'll have crossed the line before you've stop spinning in 1st, but hey, thats life

the word is spelt GRENADE, so now you have learnt something. i have nothing against NOVA's, they are a good solid little car, and if you did all the work on yours then you deserve some respect for that.

OI...

Can everybody stop taking the **** now... Why should we not believe nos nova... you say you have a 2ltr turbo with nos... + chargecooler..

Who built it? Yourself? Regal? Courtenay?

Tony... Watch what you say about nitrous, I have 150bhp jets, slicks and a big hybrid.. so dont say **** about tuning... unless you fancy going against a 5dr wagon??

ps.. must say my car is stripped to race (or will be )

NOS Nova would you mind emailing me off board as you dont have an email address in you profile... hope you dont take any of this seriously, but I think I may actually know who you are, if you have been to a few shows??? (did you get cought speeding on the way to one and live around yorkshire / doncaster?)

oh and you will loose especially if we are doing the timed mile or whatever it is at york.. as if you cross that at the 170 like I can then

Ps your welcome to take it out for a spin to see what you are missing out on.

David
