Unhappy

Folks,

Radiator top hose burst last night. Replaced it, but the car won't deliver any warm air via the heater and the engine is still getting hot. Is this because the water pump is not working or the thermostat is not opening?

Last time I had this problem it was on an older car, anyone had this experience with their Scoob? Could it be something else?

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions,

Kevin

How long did you run it without water? Another test would be a combustion test to make sure your headgasket hasn't gone. Could also be an air block in the system - start your car when cold with the header tank open and top up with water. Put your heater on hot with the fan on max while doing this. Good luck and hope it's nothing too serious.

Thumbs up

Cheers Swan,

I was almost home when it went... never quite reached the top of the temperature gauge. Will try your suggestion.. seems to be better today although the gauge is fluctuating from normal (half way) to 3/4 the way up. I will get a new top hose tomorrow and see how I get on.
