I'm going to change my OE backbox and am thinking of changing the centre section at the same time. The write up on centre sections says that it gives a subtle increase in noise level.

Can anyone put into words how subtle the increase in noise level would be in relation to there only being a backbox fitted. I do not want to be drowned out by volume in the cabin, but would like to free up some more BHP.

95% of the sound comes from the BB. The centre will barely make a difference - especially if it's a resonated.

Well i guess it may depend on the system you fit, i know a Scoobysport backbox is a little louder than the Magnex that i have fitted for example, i have fitted the non resonnated centre this weekend, and its only slightly louder on tickover now than with just the b/box, barely noticable, when cruising at a steady speed ...is definately louder ... and for me just about ok ..... but when booting it, then it gets to a level i would call noisy, but what a nice sound it is!!!
I think you get used to the sound to some extent, when i first had just the backbox i said ok, thats loud enough, subtle but deep.... but 4 weeks later i was convinced it had gone quite... .. so got the centre, and now sounds just perfect again, plus i'm sure the center has made a difference to performance slightly, may just be it sounds a lot faster!!
