Can someone with a 93WRX and a 95/96WRX read the numbers off the top of the Map sensor (mounted next to boost contol solenoid on drivers side strut). It's the black think that looks like it's mounted upside down. But the part number is readable.

I think there are 2 sets are numbers.

I'm just trying to establish if the later 95/96 Scoob had a better map sensor.

Did you get the numbers?

So what's the conclusion Scott?

I do like the Paul/David idea of using a 3bar Map & scaling down.

Scott,

Im using a 97-99 Map sensor.. And 22psi not 100% what we did with the scalling values though..

will go straight in, but requires remapping of boost targer values and boost correction values to match the scaling.

This is so far the easiest way to do it.

There all the same....

We think there may ba a hidden value in the Map which determines when the Map sensor is knackered. i.e if you breach this level fuel cut and CEL codes may be logged. We beleive that this works independant to the normal fuel cut limits.

OR

The earlier ECU's have slightly different components on the MAP Volatge to Boost pressure conversion circuit, hence the W6, 2C and W9 early ECU (pre WRX95 Z4) are less tolerant.

Went for a blast is a 94WRX RA last night and managed to get it to fuel cut, target was set at 16.4psi, fuel cut set at 18.5psi. But is still fuel cut even though the gauge was only peaking at 1.2bar and dropping to 1.1Bar.

Don't think you need it now by the looks of it but mine has the following written on it..

22012AA020
079800-1.720
DENSO JAPAN.

That is on a MY96 UK Turbo wagon..
