My MY01 Impreza is about to go for its 1k service/oil change. Garage has asked if I want expensive fully synthetic oil or normal.
Whats best ?

Had my 1k service not so long ago and the garage (Monks Heath Motors,Macclesfield) used Mobil 1.I think that's the stuff the main dealers use by default!

After 1000 miles there is no way the engine is going to be properly bedded in so I would recommend not using fully synthetic until the 7500 mile service at the earliest.

I am sure someone will put me right though!
