Hi guys,

I am using an adhesive front plate at the moment and just got stopped by an arrogant officer of the law telling me that my plate has to be vertical!

Can anyone assist?

The Plonkers will stop u for anything nowadays! nothing better to do. I've got a very small plate on the front, its stuck on, but havent got any greif so far! They were stopping a few weeks ago in our local 'crusin' spot, giving written warnings to people with illegal sized plates.
I've been told that if your plate hasnt go a BS stamp, u can get done!

 

dvla website(open.gov.uk/dvla (?)) has the rules of the game on it.
so if you wish you can look there to check legality.
I saw one on sunday on a blue saxo

when you looked closely it was C13RL W
the 1 was moved very close to the 3 and the bottom of the 3 was cut back too. from 25 foot it looked like an A.
Illegal???

 

Is there a number / web site to report misrepresented numbers.. Some To55er was really annoying my Sunday drive the other week with a bad display of driving- cut me up big style, he had with THE worse plate on I have ever seen, totally taking the pi55... nearly every letter had been Dr'd, the 11's were slanted together with a black screw cover to make an A C was made E...

I wanna grass him up, If you get caught 3 times trying to display a plate you aint got, I heard you loose the plate. This was so bad if he run you over or you saw him do something illegal there would be now way of telling what the plate actually was that can't be right..
