I've created some (loads) of mps files but when I play them back in Winamp they all say 'artist unknown' meaning I can't tell them apart

How can I title them? do I need some kind of utility to do it?

If you click on the title in winamp playlist and select File Info and the select an ID tag type then type the info you want

If you have the track names in the filename but not the ID3 tag, something like Dr Tag will help.
